News Date: 5/17/2017

Albany, NY — “Private, not-for-profit colleges and universities across New York State remain deeply committed to providing safe and healthy learning environments,” said Mary Beth Labate, president of The Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in New York.

“Our campuses worked long and hard through a deeply collaborative effort with the Governor and Legislature on the important legislation enacted in 2015. Since that time, the Independent Sector of higher education has actively participated in discussions on best practices and in the ongoing regulatory process, and we stand ready to participate in the announced review. All of these efforts are part and parcel of our commitment to the well-being of our students.”
