Statement from CICU President Lola W. Brabham on Governor Hochul's Proposal to Require Polling Places on College Campuses

STATEMENT FROM CICU PRESIDENT LOLA W. BRABHAM ON THE 2023 EXECUTIVE BUDGET PROPOSAL TO REQUIRE POLLING PLACES ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES:

ALBANY, NY (Jan. 26, 2022) — In response to Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposal to require polling places on all college campuses, Lola W. Brabham, President of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) said: 

"Placing polling locations on all college campuses in New York State makes voting more accessible for students and encourages them to be more involved and informed about their local communities. On behalf of New York's 100-plus private, not-for-profit colleges and universities, CICU supports the goal of Governor Hochul's proposal to make it easier for college students to exercise their voting rights.”
