Employee-Paid Taxes Exceed $2 Billion for Private, Not-for-Profit Colleges and Universities

  • Campus and spillover jobs generated by Independent Sector colleges and universities carry a payroll impact of $28.1 billion across New York State.
  • These employees pay $1.6 billion in personal income taxes and contribute $439 million in state and local sales taxes through their spending on goods and services.
