The Scholarship for Academic Excellence Program awards scholarships of up to $1,500 a year for up to five years to outstanding high school graduates who intend to enroll in a college or university in New York State. At least 8,000 are given every year, 2,000 scholarships for $1,500 a year and 6,000 scholarships for $500 a year. The scholarships are awarded based on grades on Regents exams.
