The Social Workers Loan Forgiveness Program seeks to increase the number of licensed social workers in critical human service areas in the fields of health, mental health, substance abuse, aging, HIV/AIDS, child welfare, and communities with multi-lingual needs. Applicants must be licensed to practice social work in New York State and have at least one year of full-time employment experience working in any of the state's 28 counties that are critical human service areas. Each student is eligible to receive up to $26,000 or their eligible student loan debt, whichever is less. Awards are available for up to four years of service to these critical human service areas.
