Centers of Excellence (COE)
Centers of Excellence (COE) foster collaboration between the academic research community and the business sector to develop and commercialize new products and technologies, promote critical private sector investment in emerging high-technology fields in New York, and create and expand technology-related businesses and employment.

- Cornell University Center of Excellence in Food and Agriculture Innovation in Geneva, New York
- Clarkson University – SUNY ESF Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions
- Rochester Institute of Technology Center of Excellence in Sustainable Manufacturing
- Syracuse University Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems
- University of Rochester Center of Excellence in Data Science
- New York Medical College Center of Excellence in Precision Medicine and Responses to Bioterrorism and Disasters
- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, and New York University Centers of Excellence in Digital Game Development
- SUNY Buffalo Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences
- SUNY Buffalo Center of Excellence in Materials Informatics
- SUNY Poly Albany Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics
- SUNY Albany Center of Excellence in Atmospheric and Environmental Prediction and Innovation
- SUNY Stony Brook Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology

NEW YOK STATE BUDGET
2019-20: $1 million per Center except for New York Medical College COE ($925,000), Albany Center in Atmospheric ($250,000). Created the Clarkson- SUNY ESF COE in Healthy Water Solutions ($125,000)
2018-19: $1 million per Center except for New York Medical College COE ($750,000), Albany Center in Atmospheric ($250,000). Created the Centers in Digital Gaming ($872,333). Created of the Cornell COE in Food and Agriculture ($1 million). Dissolved the appropriation for the Greater Rochester Center of Excellence in Photonics and Microsystems.
2017-18: $1 million per Center except for the Albany Center in Atmospheric ($250,000).Created the New York Medical College COE ($500,000),
2016-17: $1 million per Center. Created the Albany Center in Atmospheric ($250,000).
2015-16: $1 million per Center.
2014-15: $1 million per Center.
