Dr. Bassam Deeb has worked in the higher education realm in four different states for more than thirty-six years with leadership experience in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and Auxiliary operations. He has served as President of Trocaire College since 2012, expanding its footprint within Western New York and making it a leader in career-oriented higher education.
Originally, from Lebanon, Bassam holds a baccalaureate and master’s degree from the University at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University. His professional experience includes service to public and private higher education, large and small colleges, doctoral granting as well as community college.
Bassam currently serves as Chair of the Western New York Consortium for Higher Education, which includes public and private institutions. In addition, he serves on the board of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, is a member of the Presidents Council for the Association of Governing Boards, and is a Director of the Yes We Must Coalition. He is a site visitor/peer reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Accreditation, and is a trustee for Maria College in Albany and the University of the Holy Spirit in Beirut, Lebanon.
